Calculating banking
« on: February 10, 2009, 01:11:30 PM »
This might not be the correct forum for this question, but it is about 3rd party software for Radar Box. I have my system under development, and it stores flights for later viewing.
Take an example from today, CNO2303 landing at Kvernberget.

http://www.airpics.com/radar/radar.php?day=10&month=02&year=2009&callsign=CNO2303&map=normal&modes=4783CF&airport=ENKB

You can there view the path of the flight on the map. But new now is to view flights "from" the cockpit using my software combined with google earth.

You can find the links in the second line under the map. TMH Radar and MS Radar (we have to radars that captured this flight).

It looks pretty ok now, but need a way to calculate the banking angle on the aircraft. As it is now it looks like the aircraft is always using the rudder when turning. So I want something that calculates the banking angle when I have one position and track, and a new position and track. I already have the solution for vertical flight, but haven't added the calculations yet.
