Hex code updates
« on: January 23, 2009, 11:10:55 AM »
Sorry if I got this wrong.  But am I right in believing if I just get a hex code with no details it I double click on the hex the software goes back to servers at AN to update?

I have hex code 424074. which has no type associated with it.  The Gatwick AS site does have this as F2000 VP-BBP.

So either I've got this wrong or its not working for me.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

Graham

You only need to left click on the aircraft line in the list.

Are there any details showing for this aircraft, or is it just the type that is missing?

Have you got "Download Photos" selected in preferences?

Hello Allocator I'm not able to get details by left clicking on the list, I'm getting flight info but it's not downloading any details. Download aircraft photo is checked, in  navdata it is leaving the photo sections pink so its not populating these till I open them and save them cleared.

any ideas?

Maybe autopopulate is one of the services not yet restored on the Airnav servers?  I'm also getting some populate failures.

Thats good to know, thought I'd killed my Navdata by messing with it somehow. Found your dat8 file on here and got it when server was up and running.

I'm getting the same since the servers went up ... maybe it is still to be sorted out?

Hi
I have just got my AirNav, actually got it at 6.30 pm GMT today and followed the help file instruction when I was only getting the Hex code and no registration / aircraft type and it did not work. Judging by this subject train it is not anything I am doing wrong but a server issue.

Have I read this correct?

Hello and welcome to the forum, yes it looks like it is the new server and it should only be a few days before it's all up and running fully. I'm sure you'll enjoy your radarbox.

Thanks Allocator et al

Confirm that download photos is set.  Can confirm that the left click is not working for me but understand that it could be once the new server is fully functional.  Will wait for the thumbs up from the Airnav Chaps

How do I update the Hex code as there is no autopopulate function at present so that the next time it is picked up I see the aircraft details. As you might expect as a newbie I am getting a lot of codes with no details.

You can manually update them using Database Explorer.  Details on the FAQ at http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=628.0

You can do manual ModeS lookups at http://www.gatwickaviationsociety.org.uk/modeslookup.asp

Tarbat, thanks for the info. Now, as a newbie to this I have another question re the population of data for Hex Codes.

Yesterday, when I ran the reporter I found that two new Hex Codes, for me that is had no details, 4603C7 & 76CD61 and several others had no aircraft type or Airline e.g. 3C666C & 48455C.

Why is this?

This I think is a problem since Airnav have replaced the Server.

I checked mine last night and had about 170 lines, which were not populated and would not populate. These were all just showing ModeS and Reg.

This will now leave me and other's to do a lot of manual updating.
