I know my ISP (Be Internet) do block access to port 25 for all mailservers other than their own (as do most of the UK ISPs !)

That would appear to imply that most UK RadarBox users will be unable to email reports, are we sure that's the case ?

BT certainly don't block port 25, as per my screenshot above.

I can certainly send email reports okay from Radarbox.  My UK ISP is BT Internet, one of the biggest I'd have thought.

From the Be Internet FAQ:
"Can I set my own email or web server up while using the Be network?
Yes, providing you only use our services for legal purposes - please see our terms and conditions. If you would like to use your own email server, you’ll need to use our SMTP server for outgoing mail. Please contact us directly for more information. If you would like port 25 unblocked all you need to do is order a static IP from us and your port will be unblocked"

So, maybe getting a static IP address may solve your problem.

Yes tarbat it would. Its not really an issue for me as I doubt I will be using the email feature in Radarbox but the inability to configure it could be a problem for many.

I actually do run my own external email server and don't use Be for that... but its on a port other than 25.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.  I can successfully ping the email server and the telnet port check gives me a menu, so I assume that means it's working.  I disabled my firewall and tried a static IP address.  I'm able to send e-mail through outlook with no problems and I still am unable to send a report.  I guess I can send it as an attachment thru my email for now.....

Hi all.

Since some days I am not more receiving report emails from two computers running Radarbox.

I tooke a look today, thinking that RadarBox would be using SMTP from outlook
configuration of my computer, but no.
Radarbox uses SMPT mail.airnavsystems.com .....

And trying manual SEND NOW , I get messege displayed : Messege sent with success, and can see trough netstat -n command :
TCP    10.255.255.251:2097    74.55.96.226:25    ESTABLISHED
So I conclude that both Radarboxes running on both computer are ablo to connect to AirnavSyatems SMTP, but here I dont receive any email.
Also obviously I have the outlook working fine, and my antivirus is configured NOT to block mass mailing using TCP 25
I was wondering here why not let the user to choose the SMTP server, autentication etc  for this feature?
Why to use Airnav SMTP ? and not the SMTP of my own ISP ?

Cheers : Juan

juangelb,

Sounds like you need to check your spam folder or settings. You say since some days, does that mean it was working before?

Hi Airnav Support.

Thanks for Your quick answer.
I dont have spam deteccion, rejection or redirection configured.
But it seems that Airnav SMTP server has nor reverse IP configured in right way,
so this does that the emails forwarded by mail.airnavsystems.com SMTP become rejected, due to wrong reverse IP.
Maybe You can check this.

Thanks in advance : Juan

Well...
I´M Still researching why this is not working for me.
Additional data:
1- Last report email received was on 17/01/2009
2- At that time mail.airnavsystems.com was on IP Address 74.55.96.228
3- At this time mail.airnavsystems.com seems to be at IP Adrress 74.55.96.226
4- At the time last email received SMTP was Merak 8.9.1
5- Today is Merak 8.3.8
6- Last email received was from [email protected]
7- Doing a manual SMTP sequence to mail.airnavsystems.com, I got the following result :

220 mail.airnavsystems.com ESMTP Merak 8.3.8; Mon, 2 Feb 2009 23:09:26 -0000
helo maquinas.no-ip.org
250 mail.airnavsystems.com Hello maquinas.no-ip.org [201.81.48.132], pleased to meet you.
mail from: [email protected]
250 2.1.0 <[email protected]>... Sender ok
rcpt to: [email protected]
550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... we do not relay <[email protected]>

Well, it seems that mail airnavsystems.com wont not to send... unless....

Well.... It seems to me that several things changed since last time report email worked fine to me.
Also, I dont know if it is oly me with this problem... maybe

I will staying to research in this, but I still think that it will be much better that anyone would be able to have a screem to configure the SMTP server that he wishes.... or let the defaul Airnav SMTP server configured, if wont not to have additional work.

Cheers   let stay working... if everyday is a good day to learn something else...
This dos not kill !   as smoking does....  Hahahhhha.

OOPs...

Let me to explain... I´m not trying with this reports doing anything else than solve the problem and if possible to help, even when a liile bit  and not sure if in the right direction.

Airnav Team is far away the better in skill, effort and in hearing his customers wishes... and this has to be told...

And only for comment.... I started with SBS-1 ... I still have it here... left aside... But I have 3 RBS ! Very happy Airnav user !

Cheers. Juan

If this helps diagnose your problem, these are the headers I see on the emails I successfully get from Radarbox.  Seems to work okay on my PC.

Guys at midnight my automatic email with record of flights 03/02/09 did not issue, though it has been fine up to tonight. I have just clicked send now and the email issued perfectly. This is the first time my email has failed just thought i'd let you all know!!!
