GAS Database of aircraft

If anyone is looking for a read-made database of 10,266 aircraft to populate into their Navdata aircraft table, note that the full GAS database is available for download as part of the SBS1 resources download, at http://www.kinetic-avionics.co.uk/downloadssbs1.php

I simply exported the aircraft from this download, and imported into my aircraft table.  I've now got correct owners and serial numbers, etc.

Is it best to empty your aircraft table or will this lose all the aircraft I have picked up? The aircraft I have picked up will still be in the My log file?

MyLog stays intact.  It's only the Navdata I updated.  What I did was:
1. Backup Navdata
2. Empty the aircraft table in Navdata
3. Import the 10,000+ aircraft from the download
4. Export all aircraft from the backed-up Navdata
5. Import that into the new Navdata, using InsertNew/Append only (in SQLite Maestro), so that anything I had in Navdata that wasn't in the GAS download got replaced.

NOT for the faint-hearted!!

Which is the actual database, one of the files named GAS<something>? I assume it's the big zipped SBS Resources file that one downloads?

Yes, download the big resources file.  THe GAS database is in the Registrations folder (I think).

Did it fill all the fields in, Inluding the AT Field - you know the one people have problem with the ---

Yes, got rid of all those "..." in the AT field.  Note, that it's still not a complete database of all aircraft.  Even after importing the 10,000+ aircraft, there were still over 3,000 in my backed-up Navdata that I had to add back into the new database.

Haven't got time now, but tomorrow I'll do some work to see whats not in the database.

As you know I am doing mine manually, I think I am upto about 5,600 in the Navdata.db3 so far, but still a way to go.

Will have a look at the Gas Database when I get the chance.

I wish AirNavSystem would do the same update ^above^!  It be handy if they keep the database more updated. Then it be much better for the RadarBox users. :)

Attached zip file contains the 10,000+ aircraft from this SBS1 download in csv format.  Extracted using this SQL:

Probably - but beware there are some dodgy/missing ICAOTypeCode values that really ought to be fixed first.
