Fog at Inverness (EGPE)
« on: December 28, 2008, 03:45:45 PM »
Lots of aircraft in the hold at Inverness, with at least one diverted to Aberdeen so far.

My son's due to fly out at 7:15pm today, just hoping his flight will be okay.

Well, what a terrible day for both ATC and pilots at Inverness today.  Every aircraft that arrived at the airport spent around 30 minutes in hold waiting for a gap in the fog.  All eventually gave up and diverted to Aberdeen or Edinburgh.  There's just one aircraft now attempting an approach, but I reckon that will also divert to Aberdeen as well.

I'm so glad my son decided to fly back yesterday, although even that was delayed while the aircraft waited for de-icing.
