I make your Lat/Long location somewhere off the Scilly Isles!

I think you're confusing minutes with decimal degrees.

N50.07 W5.61 is roughly halfway between Mousehole and Land's End, near Saint Buryan, according to Google Maps.

Hmmm...  I think I must have had a senior moment - I knew that ".61" couldn't be minutes! And my Google Earth is set for decimal, too.

Anyway, davelew1s is on now, possibly in the right place.

Hi Rod!
St Buryan is just about perfect..thanks for adding me...I'm not on line all the time but as much as I can. At the moment I'm using the supplied aerial on a pole outside the window, but the short cable restrict the height I can get, and local buildings are blocking some signals, I'm going to play around with this aerial in  different places.
Thanks again Dave.

Can't seem to stick a pin in.  Any help to stick my pin in NP44 would be appreciated!

Hi Trainerwales and welcome!

You're now on the map (you have to have a Google account to edit it or add a pin)

I just want to bump this thread to remind new members to please add your pin to the map if you want to - or tell us where to place a pin for you if you don't have a Google account.

The map appears to be editable now, as long as you have a Google account.

I've just added kdt1 in Minnesota.

Well I must be missing something here...either that or I'm too stupid to find the Edit button and add my location...

I have clicked on the links given earlier by both Rod & Chris and get the map up on the US.

I enter my town and off it goes, centres it and sticks a red 'A' on my town but then...

What next?

I appear to be signed in as I can see my email address at the top of the page along with a 'Sign Out' button...

Mind you I don't see anyone else on the map and I believe Terry has already been added on my home town...but he won't mind as he is in Torquay at the moment!

Idiots Guide anybody please? ;^)

Thanks & regards,
-=Glyn=-

Hi Glyn - I'm afraid the idiot got to it first!

In another thread, Tarbat reported that the map had been sabotaged, and the project has been abandoned. We should have put a notice to that effect here.

We're still hoping, possibly in vain, that AirNav will create something similar in the future, and the ball's now in their court.

I'd be willing to try setting up a map in Google again, if anyone can tell me how to prevent others assigning collaboration rights to the map.

Ah...that would explain why I couldn't see or add anything on the map then...

If I even knew what you meant by preventing others assigning collaboration rights to the map I might be able to help...;^)

Wouldn't it be possible to host the map on a private website and assign read only rights to it?

Well apart from the user who is hosting the website of course...:-)

Kind regards,
