Mode-s to Country Flag
« on: October 25, 2008, 03:32:54 PM »
I have just seen a strange entry in Mylog -
 Mode S 43E72D   Registration M-CHEM
Country Logo Shown RAF Roundal

How does RB resolve the Mode-S to Country codes?

Based in Hexham - Tyne Valley
Best view for RB is North of a line between EGNT and EGNC  - includes OTA and Spade, to EGPH above 7500ft.   Can be TRUE mobile with Mobile Broadband feed to Network.

Hi jgrloit

Read this thread - http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1527.0 and download Tarbat's D008.DAT and flags file in flagszip.zip - all should be OK then!

Using my D008.DAT file, that hex code will resolve to the Isle of Man.

ANRB takes the hex code and turns it into binary.
43E72D = 010000111110011100101101

It then searches D008.DAT for the closest match, using "-" as a wild card:
IF,Isle of Man_3,0100001111100111001-----

In the standard D008.DAT file, the closest match is (incorrectly):
UnitedKingdom_Mil,RAF,0100001111--------------
