That's fair enough, but are your logging requirements going to be the same as the next user?
That's a fair enough point which is why I agree with you that there will always be the need for specialised programs.

My own logging requirements aren't that intensive and don't go much beyond what we already have but I do feel that a reasonable level of built in logging is vital in attracting new users to the product. Particularly so in relation to some of the more non-technical hobbyists as the RB is to an extent pushed as an 'out of the box' solution.

Agree it's a good idea to have a thread to ascertain what the main requirements would be and pin down the most popular of those provided those that want things that aren't included agree to accept the outcome ;)

Dave: please send us a list of logging features you need. Describe each one with detail and we will add it to out to-do list.

I've attached an SBS log, which shows most of what is required. The only nice addition would be a time last picked up (the time shown is first picked up).
For instance, if you look at N14231, it's immediately apparent that this overflew SoCal once at FL38 at 10.39pm, whereas N14186 was in and out of local fields for most of the day.

I am the author of JSTARS http://jstars.altervista.org/ and I am trying to understand if JSTARS works well with RadarBox.
Did anyone make a test or use it?
Does a radarbox emulator/simulator exist to test its flow data on port?

For me it's important to understand which kind of data are useful for further features.

Any comments/feedback are welcome.

Rob

Rob,

We corresponded briefly regarding JSTARS via your website.  JSTARS doesn't recognise the RadarBox Port 30003 output as the format is slightly different to that put out by the SBS-1.

I'm very keen to get JSTARS working with RadarBox, so I'll PM you with my email address so that I can provide you with what you need for testing.

JSTARS Lite connects OK, but it just doesn't recognise or process the data.

I'll continue this discussion on the more appropriately named Port 30003 output thread :-)
