Afternoon All,

Just purchased the RB last week and just getting to grips with it! Must say I am initially pleased with it. Although I have some minor issues to resolve! I was a previous user of the SBS1, but did not like the fact that to get a good looking display you have to download all the outlines, nav aids, airports etc to get a good looking display. Of course with the RB this is not necessary and much easier. The small RB wins hands down over the size of the SBS and metal box is much better in my opinion. I would have liked to see a bnc connection on the box rather than the flimsy one that is fitted. The Network is very very good and being able to track aircraft across Europe and elsewhere is fantastic. I used the RB in Greece over the weekend and was very good at giving me half hour or more warning that something was coing into land at Corfu!
I am not going to post any questions yet! until I have bit more experience  using the RB!

thanks for reading this and regards

Welcome Winngut,

Don't hesitate to ask any questions and take a look at the Forum FAQ's too as there's loads of good stuff there :-)

Afternoon, Wingnut, and welcome!

Ah - Corfu - spotter's paradise (hoping to do Skiathos next year myself).

Enjoy your RB - do ask if you have any questions, but, as you say, a little hands-on experience is a great teacher, and the PDF manual has a lot of good stuff in it.

Hello and welcome, Wingnut
If like me you don`t like the SMA connector at the rear of the box,get a SMA, to BNC adaptor from Maplins, thats what i`ve done with no loss of signals(only about £2 each).does the job nicely, what!

                                                       Regards Terry.

I see that Allocator has become a phantom!

Are you really here?  ;-)

I thought that it was time to have an Avatar - RAF Leuchars 1977-80.  F4 Phantom, a real man's aeroplane.  There was a big sign painted on the hangar "Jet noise, the sound of freedom"

And the F15's from Bitburg came to play too :-)
