Network Cost
« on: September 08, 2008, 12:33:01 PM »
Hi there,

I have just taken the plunge and signed up to the Network for another year. However, there are a couple of things need explaining P L E A S E

Firstly it is not until one has ordered the item that one finds out that the so called £4 a month is actually nearer £6 due to the exchange rate it is £47.95 GBP per year plus VAT is then added to that cost, making a years total £56.34

Secondly having ordered the item I get back a receipt stating that I have just pourchased
AirNav Live Flight Tracker despite the "go to to buy button" directing me to the network Personal item.

Can you please confirm as a matter of uregency that I have in fact ordered the extention of my Network ability on my RadarBox and not some other product you may be trying to sell.  If I have not ordered the correct thing - due to the way the internet is set up, I want my money back.......

Edit - I have just looked at the two receipts I have, the one from screen I placed the order on says I have purchased the AirNav Radabox - Radarbox Network personal and the email receipt says I have purchased AirNav Flight Tracker..........

Will take a look, its probally a mistake in the auto email. Probally easier to email support on this rather than on the forum when its abouts specfic orders.

For us poor Brits, the GB Pound is worth less than it was when AirNav decided the monthly cost.  Can't really blame them for the downturn in our economy.

It wasn't long ago when I was buying all my online stuff using US Dollars as the exchange rate was so good.  If fact, when given the option, I was checking the cost in all the currencies available and then looking at the converted cost to see which one was the best price.  Sometimes there can be a significant saving to be made by using PayPal and purchasing in a different currency.

Not sure if this can be done with the Network subscription.

Roadrunner,

Think yourself lucky - we're getting a good deal (apart from VAT that is!)

The basic GBP price is 47.95

The USD price is 93.95 which equates to GBP 52.26

The Euro price is 59.95 which is GBP 48.30 - both plus VAT for us of course.

Conversions based on www.xe.com

AirNav,

Yes, It would appear to be the email one can get by clicking on the on-screen acknowledgement. I got a correct email about 30 minutes later (after had taken dog for walk) but was a bit disconcerted.

The exchange rate problem is beyond AirNavs control but I don't remember seeing anywhere that orders would be subject to VAT :-(
