Presumably you're referring to some of the visiting foreign C-130s (e.g. the Brazilian ones) rather than the RAF's ?

The E3's seem to spend alot of time around the North East and are often seen doing holds and procedures at Newcastle.

I had NATO 02 talking to Scottish Mil 'holding hands' with Fagin 24 from 2130hrs -2245hrs on 03/09/08 on the UHF. I assumed 'holding hands' to be air to air refuelling as Fagin 24 (ZD948 Tristar KC1 500). The squawk codes quoted above are Boulmer CRC and Scottish military.

"Holding Hands" just means that he's in formation with Fagin 24.  They probably will be refuelling, or at least doing "dry runs" at some point, but not necessarily right now.

Thanks for that. First time I had heard that phrase used before... just thought they were good friends!
