Micro RadarBox dongle/antenna question

Hi Alan and abcd567

I've plugged in the dongle and clicked on Device and checked the box but the R2838U does not appear in the list, I've got 6 devices listed;

Bulk-in, interface (interface 0)
HP Wide version HD (interface 0)
Bulk-in, Interface (interface 1)
USB Reciever (Interface 1)
Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R)
USB Receiver (interface 1)

No sign of the dongle though, but its plugged in and lit up?

Any thoughts? Sorry, I thought this was going to be simple!  My IT skills are hampered by my dyslexia!

Tick Options/Ignore hubs or composite parent and hopefully it will appear

When I tick options and ignore hubs or composite parent the dongle does not show, just the 6 listed, however, when ignore hubs or composite parents is UNCHECKED I get 9 devices showing one of them being the R2838UHIDIR (Composite Parent) but it shows a different driver so I quickly ignored that - but when checking the ignore hubs composite parent the dongle is not showing!

I’m at a loss… any more thoughts?

I just plugged in the black microstick and that’s working without any issue….

Select "R2838UHIDIR (Composite Parent)", do not bother for driver shown, and click "Reinstall Driver".

Just to clarify, should the driver shown in the left hand box be deleted as it’s different from the one shown on the right hand box?

Do not do anything to the drivers shown even if these are different. Just click the box "Reinstall Drivers".

Thanks for the reply.

I've taken a screenshot of the Zadig driver dashboard.  I had a system warning come up asking if I really wanted to change the system drivers?

For the sake of fear of causing problems or conflicts with my computer and other installations I've taken a screenshot and held back from actioning anything. 

The button says replace driver?  Would the driver it replaces solely affect my RB Green Flightstick?  I'm probably being over cautious but I dont have the IT skills as others do to sort out things if they go wrong!

If it was my computer, I will take the risk and go ahead and click the "replace driver" button.

 Since you said you have limited IT skils, I don't want to tell yiu to go ahead and click replace driver button.

Sorry I had to leave the thread as I had other matters to take care of

Microsoft believes that their drivers are better than anyone elses and you dont need anything else and installing other manufacturers drivers will make it inferior even if the item will not work without them, hence the warning from Windows.  Other USB items on your computer will work normally

It used to be that following a windows update that the stick would not work as the update had replaced the driver and we had to reinstall again but it has not occured for a while but if it does do a reinstall

Thank you again for returning to my somewhat paranoid thread!

So can you confirm I can add that driver listed in the lefthand box for the 2838U (Composite Parent) without issue and then the Greenstick should work without any conflict on my other USB dongles?

My IT skills are very poor and my dyslexia hampers most things - God knows spotting takes it's toll in itself!

Yes I have seen it thanks,  sorry I though what I had stated earlier was clear, I am happy to advise to replace the driver
