Another daft question
«
on:

I was having a look at this flight and although it was about 10 miles from me, it seemed to be tracked by a station in Lewis in the Western Isles. Is there much point in sharing if another station can reach this far?
Just a question?
Thanks
Neil

Of course there is, he and others will be ok for high level coverage of your area but you will be better for lower levels. Also given that he is much further west you will get better coverage further east and north. Also he may be off at certain times of the day/week. Think of further south where there are hundreds of receivers

No worries, I am on 24 hrs a day, do you have an aerial/receiver of that type this far north?

Also remember that for MLAT to work, at least three, and preferably more, stations must pick up an aircraft's signals, so the more the better.
