Windows RadarBox24 Settings
« on: April 20, 2019, 04:51:51 PM »
Hi,

the IP address of my "feed" has been changed. I use the "RadarBox Data Sharing" client on my PC and need to change the IP:port settings for the input feed. Unfortunately I can't find any options, registry keys, .ini file and look forward to some helpul input.

Thank You
M

I have just asked the same question in an email to support, as I wasn't aware of the forum at the time.

I faced the same problem. It will be great if support tells us how to change IP & port of feed (by default it is 127.0.0.1:30003)

Currently I solved it by installing VRS (Virtual Radar Server) on Windows computer.

I have set VRS as follows:
Receiver: IP, Port, and Data Format should be set to that of the "feed".
Rebroadcast Server: Port must be set to 30003, and Format to Basestation to match default input of RB24 feeder

Note: To reach Settings of Receiver and Rebroadcast Server, Click "Tools" on menu and on the dropdown, click "options"
Please see attached screenshots showing settings of VRS

Thanks, once again you supply the answer! It was easy as I was already using VRS to forward.

Now, how do I correct the lat/long?

Now, how do I correct the lat/long?

1. Go to followig page (replace xxxxxx by your station number)
radarbox24.com/stations/EXTSHAxxxxxx

2. Login to your account

3. On top left, at the end of the line showing your city, you will see Edit, as shown by red arrow in attached screenshot.

Click Edit. This will open lat/lon setting box.

Thanks once more. I think the system has to link my user account first, it hasn't been running long enough yet. I'll tray later.

Contact support with your feeder ID and email and ask them to link your account

Thanks, I have emailed them. Though I think support has taken the long weekend off.

You can check your linked stations by
1. Go to page radarbox24.com and Login
2. Click login button again to open a box on left giving your detatils
3. In this box, click on "Stations". A drop-down list of all stations linked to your account will appear.
4. Click on Station number you want to display in web page & Edit its lat and lon.

Please see screenshots below.

All fixed now, support have linked the account. However, they didn't answer my original query about configuration editing.

All fixed now, support have linked the account.

Glad to know all is OK for you now.

However, they didn't answer my original query about configuration editing.

I dont think that "RB24 Data Sharer.exe" is user-configureable for infeed's IP & Port. This configuration seems to be hard-coded.

However after first time entering user & password, upon subsequent starts, these vales are already there. This shows that these are saved locally in the computer. As there is no config file in the installation folders, the obvious location is Windows registry as registry key. I never tried to find user/password in registry, but I am pretty sure it should be there.

Even if IP & Port is not user-configureable, support should tell this. Just ignoring the query is frustrating.

Had a good look at registry and appdata, but nothing found so far.

Nah, apart from the Planefinder guys, all of these operations are typically unhelpful.

If you don't ask you don't get so nothing to loose in asking.  I know the log in information is stored in the registry but no idea on the ip details

Would it not be easier to start again with a new instance of the feeder using the new IP  rather than trying to change things in the registry.  Support can then be asked to unlink and remove the now redundant share
