Version 1.6
« on: May 29, 2008, 10:24:45 PM »
Would it be possible to have the report generator revert to giving flight number included as this is surely the whole idea of filing on the groups to enable tie-ups.

Copied that one and added to the wish list (actually it was already there).

When will 1.6 be ready? Will the performance be improved as well?

Will be ready in 3-4 weeks and not to many changes (a little of performance increase and reported bugs corrected). V1.5 is already very stable.

Looking forward to the release, especially if it stops the freeze when the window is minimised :-)

for the wish-list:
I already asked for customizing the "Home" name. An alternate could be  to use the avoid label overlap function for the Home tag.
in the my flights list : would it be possible to modify directly (right click?) the database record for a particular airframe e.g. changing the aircraft type, instead of going through File>database explorer>Select table aircraft>text to find xxxx in MS>edit cell
for the aircraft I catch the Gatwick database is quite poor so I have to check several times a day the MS info on airframes.org to provide an ac type and registration +picture

Airnav, how about a weather downlink whereby it can be overlayed on the Map? line thunderstorm ect?

The weather idea was mentioned a long time ago. However there logistics problems of getting weather for the whole world and getting overlayed.

But we will take a further look again.

Could I add something to the list.

How easy would it be to take (where presented) the Altitude of the reporting aircraft and then mash it up with the Polar Diagram to give a 3D model of the Polar. I.e. you can see your reach based on altitude.

Does that make sense?

Jim,

I understand you - and I think that this is a good idea.

This has already been done with the SBS-1 with a third party polar diagram plotter.

http://jetvision.de/sbs.shtml

This actually runs with RadarBox, but the SBS-1 has a different way of showing the outlines so I don't know if this would work to give a 3D type display with RB.

All it did was to plot different polar diagrams for different altitude blocks.

Airnav have already noted a very similar request in this thread:

I think it would be neat, too!

Excellent news. At least I wasn't just making up whacky ideas.
