I get this to and have found the same - start Dump1090 & planeplotter first and no problems,do the reverse and radarbox refuses to start.I have also noticed that if radarbox is running and I then try to start Dump1090 for planeplotter the program just flashes up on the screen and then dissapears which suggests to me that there is some sort of confliction between the two programs, however I'm no computer whizz so may be wrong.

Only one SW can connect to the RTL Dongle at time. If RB software has falsely already connected to the dongle dump1090 is not able to connect and therefore shuts down imediately. Same happens, if you have already one instance of dump1090 or similar programm running in the background.

dump1090 or other software requires exclusive access to the RTL dongle. If it is necessary to access the received data with several different software installations you have to use modesmixer2.
