Radarbox24

Why dose Radarbox24 show so few planes compared to Flightradar24.
I have a airnav radarbox that I bought around 2008 from Yeadon AS. but when I try to log on it tells me incorrect then shuts me out after 3 attempts. Tried reinstalling and setting new password but no joy, still shuts me out, this is why I was looking at alternatives and surprised by the lack of aircraft on Radarbox24

alio, The user name and password required to operate the box are on the lable on the back of your box and will also be on the sleeve of the CD.

If you use these and still cannot get it started on contact support@airnavsystems with the username and password.

Also the software you are using is well out of date and you should upgrade to the latest Version 5.00.72

Hi Runway31 thanks for replying,
I missed that one, well I am in my seventies and a bit forgetful. Is it possible to upgrade the box I have its s/n is ARNB10806 bought it 26/05/09 is there more to it than getting new drivers, also when I get new drivers where should they be put. would appreciate it if you could give me a few pointers thanks.

Have you installed the software in the \program files folder?

If yes, this could cause some trouble. It's better you install it to a folder like \airnav systems\radarbox

Further you need to download and install 64bit drivers, which you can get here:

First thing I would suggest is to uninstall your previous version.  Then down load V5.00.72 from here http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB50072Setup.exe
Also down load the 64bit drivers from here http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip

The 64bit drivers are in a zipped file so before you down load them create a folder on your desk top and name it 64bit drivers.  Once they are in the folder unzip them insode it.

v5.00.72 is a big download so it will take some time.  Once downloaded install it to  C:\Airnav not the programme files location of the previous version. 

When it is installed you should then be able to go into Start\Device and Printers and you will see your Radarbox under Unspecified.  Right click on it and another window will open up.  Click on the Hardware Tab and on it click Properties.  On the Window that opens click Change Settings and the Driver on the window that opens.

Click Update Driver and then Browse My Computer For Driver Software and Browse to your folder on the desktop where you have the unzipped drivers and once you are in the folder press Next and the drivers will install.

Once finished close all the windows and start up Radarbox and insert you Username and Password and hopefully all being well off you go.

In Addition to Alans step by step list:

I would suggest, that you create a folder named Drivers under the\Airnav folder. After that copy the unzipped drivers there. If you do so, you can easyly find the drivers again.

Well done Alan.

Next thing you should do is update the database to see what the aircraft are.

Go to File Database Explorer, click on the Database updates Tab, click the Update All Records radio button then Start Update.

You will see a green progress bar along the bottom.  When the update is downloaded it will start processing then it will advise to close down and restart RB.  When you restart it will finish the process and you should have 250,000 odd aircraft records instead of the 80,000 you will have now.

If you go to Database Explorer/Tables Tab select table/aircraft from drop down list and at bottom left of window you should see around 225963 records if all has went well.  The database updates once each day so you can update as often as you wish.
