FM Trap for 118-136 Mhz, might interest some people...
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:28:15 PM »
Ever since I moved to my new location a few months ago, I have been getting "reasonable" reception on my scanner for the aircraft band. Now, upon reading a few threads on radioreference.com, it was recommended to get an FM Trap filter to cut out all FM radio transmissions below the 108 Mhz range.  From the results people have been getting, I just purchased one on many recommendations.

Apparently it opens up the aircraft band and makes it much clearer and can receive signals further away.

This may also help people trying to receive ACARS.

regards,

Jason

Interesting let us know how it goes.

Seen the link to Radio Shack's filter.  For $5 seems worthwhile to give it a go.  Now I'll have to find a UK outlet.  Radio shack in the UK is known as Tandy but nothing on their website.

Amazon US sell it but not Amazon UK.

Cheers
