Why has this started happening?
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:40:37 PM »
I'm getting flights down to about 800ft and obviously losing them.
But then, instead of just sitting there at 800ft, they suddenly appear as being at FL160 then FL380 before they eventually time-out!

I'm using win7 64bit and 4.03

That erroneous altitude has always happened and is still to be fixed.  The signal given off changes around 3-400ft and then again when the aircraft is on the ground.

Actually, I have remembered distinctly watching planes land at Luton and Heathrow in the past when I've swapped/altered height of my antenna for a comparison.
This never happened then. They used to get to how ever many feet and just time out.

Please look back through posts and you will find it mentioned often enough. It doesnt occur on every flight but it does occur.  It will be the last of the original bugs to be fixed.

As an example havea look at http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=4987.msg49961#msg49961

It's never occurred for me until now. I've not had the box running for nearly a year but I'm still using the same software.
If as you say, this is an original bug, then why is it being one of the last ones to fix?
It's quite a major one isn't it?
