N-Type Connectors VS PL-259...What a difference!!!

So, for months now, I have been waiting to go up on the roof once we get good weather to change out my LMR-400 with PL-259 connectors to a new line of LMR-400 with N-Type Connectors...

As we all know...the PL-259 is only rated to about 500 Mhz...

ADS-B being 1090, this was not ideal.............

Immediately after changing out to the N-Type connectors, I started getting almost TWICE as many returns, ground returns and my polar diagram has started to expand!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who has PL-259 connectors, get them changed out!

Quite right Jason, N-type much more suitable, F-type also effective but nothing like as good IMO.    N-type also available for a wider range of cable diameters.

After observing the Polar diagram for a few days, I am amazed how the outer "fringe zone" has started to expand.  There is a marked improvement as it appears to have helped with "weak" or much more distant signals.  I am consistently pulling in hits 240 to 300 Nm with regularity now.
