HEX Decoding error
« on: January 12, 2013, 04:46:52 AM »
Today I watch the log and found that a Nok Air flight DD8818 (AT72) shows route from VTBS to UUDD that raise my suspicious (route is wrong).  In fact there is a Thai Airways flight TG974 that flies from VTBS to UUDD at the same time.  Looking from the MyLog found this:

HS-TKC B773 880043 THA974 VTBS-UUDD 1973 msg,  has wrong entry as DD8818 790 msg
HS-TRB AT72 880063 DD8818 VTBD-VTCN 1032 msg, has wrong entry as THA974 884 msg

Is this because the HEX is so similar in binary?  Will this be fixed with the solution mention in this post?  http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=7256.0   since there is several hundred error decoded messages in my case.

Thanks

Hi Kenny,

I dont know the answer to your query but the hex decoded correctly 88043 is HS-TKC and 880063 is HS-TRB so there is no decoding error therefore the header to the thread is not quite correct.  The hex details the aircraft not its routing.

The flight ID being allocated to the wrong flight is a different matter and I dont know the answer to that one but I wil put it to Airnav.

Regards
