Iran Air

Dont know if anyone has seen Iran Air airbus a300 n route fron LHR to IKA (Tehran) but I was just watching on the Airnav that this plane went over Manston just north of me and i did a u turn then vanished off the screen at about 3000 ft ??

Hi Colin,
There's an embargo around Europe against Iran Air, and I believe that their flights ex-Heathrow now refuel at Manston as they are not allowed to at Heathrow. See:

Thanks for that Dave,wondered why it was at 30000feet and then vanished,will keep an eye on that and see if it goes into Manston again.

I was browsing my log last night and came across an Iran Air return logged back in September this year. If it's not a miscode it's clearly a diplomatic mission to be flying around here. (KJFK)

The final altitude was listed as 3000', and being logged as Mode S I must assume it was landing somewhere in the extremity of my polar diagram.

Picked this up in Frankfurt while spotting in the LH Lounge. Watched it land and taxi in and out.
