ATC Overlay
« on: August 21, 2011, 04:40:25 PM »
Hi All,

I've seen some screen shots of maps with ATC zones, restricted areas etc, on them as an overlay and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a downloadable overlay file that I can use?
Failing that, is there a tutorial or something that will allow me to make my own?

Thanks for any advise.

Martin.

Thanks for the link,
I got that downloaded and transferred into the outlines folder.
It looks a bit busy at the moment but I'll have a play and see what I can do with it.

I find if you tone down the colours of the zones to purples or greys that are a few shades different from your background colour they are much better.  I live 13 miles from LHR so have many zones etc.

This topic will give you an idea of what mine looks like.

I've had a play with the colours and removed some of the detail. Trouble is, the colours on the saved jpg image are different from what's on my screen so it's still a bit of trial and error, and I'm still playing with the amount of detail.
You can see what it looks like here: http://www.hebwx.co.uk/wxflight.php

Save as a GIF instead.  Here's what mine looks like, a similar area to you:

Sorry, my bad, it's a GIF that I'm uploading, not JPG.
I think I've got it sorted to where I want it now. It was mostly the restricted and danger areas I wanted on there as we've got a few around here. ;)

Thanks for the help on this one.
