Adding memory - multi-tasking

Hi all

A bit off topic but you may be able to assist. I currently run a PC with Win 7 64 bit. It's got an i7 CPU and 6GB memory. I have dual screens and like to have radarbox running in 3d on my 2nd screen . Ontop of this I run a TV card. I like to do a lot of photoediting on my main screen and have several app's running in the background.

Someone has suggested that with that load on my 6GB that I would benefit from increasing it to 12GB. It's not crashing but does slow down at times. Anyone any views or experience of going to 12GB?
