Mode S CBEDFC
« on: September 29, 2010, 02:54:50 PM »
Guys,

Just flown over the house here  close to Alicante at 26,000ft and looked to be 4 engined military type Using mode S of CBEDFC (obviously a false code). Strangely enough the flag shown looked like the St Andrews Cross Scottish flag.
Has anyone any ideas as to whst this might be?
Robin did you spot it as it appeared to come from your direction ?

Ian,
It maybe the Bank of Scotland charter flight bringing the balance of your account from East Kilbride?

Hello

This is the default flag for a code that isn't allocated to a country (presumably "X" meaning none.)

According to http://kinetic-avionics.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4023&start=420 it is

Hope this helps.

I have it in my database as an unknown, with a note saying it's one of the Spanish AF 707s, miscoded.

Brimon,

Ian

As ever all queries on hex code tie-up are much better requested on the Yahoo mode S group.  Then you will get input from users of all Virtual radar box types (plus some who have work access to flightplans) not just us merry Airnav-ers

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Mode_S

On the 115 logs on that group that have picked up the code, it remains unidentified.
