Hey guys, Can someone please explain how the logos work? I know how to place new logos in the RB files but I notice when I have for example 4 Flybe aircraft in the area only 2 will show the logo! How is the logo generated?

Cheers

hello mate the Logo will only be put on the screen if the aircraft is showing a  flight id.
Hope that helps

Thanks Besty! I though that might be the case having studied it all afternoon :)

MMmmm I was having a think and wondered if it would be possible for RB to change the way the logo is generated so that the logo will come up based on the Registration rather than the flight number in future updates? Just a thought!

Hi guys - this has been discussed at length before, and we think that logos tied to registration is generally a bad idea because the ID is always (when present and correct) up to date and relevant to the current flight, while registrations are always lagging behind in the database when aircraft get sold/chartered.

I see many bizjets which are owned by one company but are leased on a daily basis to other operators, and their flight ID's often show who - for example I've been seeing various aircraft with KRF Id's (royal flight) and it's much more interesting to know that they are operating a royal flight than to know who the owner is (which is shown separately in the grid anyway).

If there isn't an ID, then it has been suggested that the reg is used as a backup, or that we have a separate field in the aircraft table in navdata.db3 where we could put in a reference to the logo of our choice.

Thanks Rod, thats very interesting and thanks for the info! I agree with everything you say it's definately better to know who's actually operating the aircraft.
Just dislike the blanks when there's no Flt No.
