Hi and a couple of quesions
« on: November 27, 2009, 03:25:35 PM »
Firstly I wanted to say "Hi" .....

I have managed to get permission from the "great and all mighty" wife to purchase a Radar Box tomorrow (I forgot to mention to her that a Scanner, Outside Aerial is also wanted / needed) and have a couple of questions if I may.

1) If I purchase the RadarBox tomorrow and in a few days the 3D software is released, will this be a free upgrade or would I be better to hold on.

2) Can anyone recommend an external aerial for someone on a limited budget.  I have also been looking at a scanner (IC-PCR1500 or the Bearcat UBC-785XLT) as currently I'm listening to Live ATC.  Could one aerial be used for both devices.

Sorry for the "beginner" questions and thank you for your time.

Kimpeck - Hi and welcome.
1 - the basic package does not include the 3D. That will be an extra and cost (I guess).
2 - There are various antennae on the market. Do a search on this forum. You can make an aerial very cheaply and out of scrap if you have the bits. It doesn't need to be fancy.
ATC is VHF and RB is SHF at 1.2 Ghz. You can make a dual band aerial or it is probably easier to keep the 2 seperate.
Good luck"
