Everybody should be aware that Radarbox qualifies as a radio receiver and usage in flight a commercial airplane is strictly prohibited by IATA, FAA and other state and operator regulations, because viable aircraft systems can be disturbed by the unit's local oscillator.
I checked the regulations with the authorities... Radio receivers are allowed over 10,000 ft.
This is a regulation by the FAA that is true for other non-transmitting electronic devices like laptops, walkmen, gameboy... - but not radio receivers, these belong to transmitting devices as the contain a local oscillator that transmits RF power through the receiver's antenna.
