Real Time Network...
« on: October 24, 2009, 08:52:38 PM »
I have to say I am a massive fan of the real time network! I always watch ANRB with my scanner on & the 5 minute delay always made the experience a litte odd. Now it all makes sense & I am able to watch a lot of other areas now in sync with either my scanner or the excellent live ATC www.
I appreciate that there are a lot of opinions out there on whether to share data or not & I understand the reasons for not sharing, but please put to one side the thoughts on how ethical it is for AirNav to charge us to receive the data that others transmit, and consider the great pleasure it is for other ANRB users to receive this view.
Over the last week I have particularly enjoyed the 'Maastricht' area data from the Dutch area as well as the North Sea region, the 132.86 / 126.78 area across the North UK, the coverage across and to the west of Ireland and the coverage along the east coast of the US along the BOS, NYC & Washington areas.
This has led me to want to understand who is sharing their data & when is the best time to view. I am based just to the south of LGW with good coverage of the SE UK across to Northern France & I am usually on 24/7 with peak traffic times between 0600-1000 UTC & 1800-2200 UTC.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all 'sharers' out there & ask who, from where & when are the best times my like minded friends are transmitting?!
9 nm south of LGW

dca,
East coast of America is 5 hours behind UK and the west coast 8 hours behind therefore you should be able to work out the best times for plenty traffic in those areas. Most likely the usual morning and evening rush hours with a bit of an increase in the middle of the day. Having said that the area around New York and Chicago is busy all day. That is likely to be the times when any RB users in America have their RB's on.
