strange 9V-SKJ A380 Pic.
« on: September 11, 2009, 04:42:34 PM »
SQ317 - A380 Reg: 9V-SKJ flew over my house yesterday after takeoff from 09L @LHR.

The ANRB software is displaying the pic as a 747, I look outside and its an A380.

Are there no pics of this aircraft available yet and is this the latest A380 for SQ.

There's only 2 photos on airliners.net for this aircraft, both of a B747-312 back in 2000.   Take a photo of it, and submit it to airliners.net.

Fair point - I think everyone appreciates that RadarBox can't display a photo of the A388 if nobody on airliners.net has taken one of it yet.

Less easy to excuse, though, is displaying the details as a B743 (which it hasn't been for 8 years) when GAS - which is supposed to be updating the RadarBox database - has the correct information.

It's frustrating that the continuing delays to V3 are holding up any attempts to address this issue, and even once it has been released there doesn't seem to be any clear roadmap to indicate what, if anything, AirNav plan to do about it.

Totally agree.  I wish Airnav would drop the data feed from airliners.net, and just use GAS for it's data feed.  Get photos from airliners.net, but not data.   PLEASE!!!

Once a week I auto-update all new aircraft from GAS.

We have mentioned that it will be looked into. Version 3 is a priority first, don't worry.

Tarbat, We understand and have dicussed this before. Airliners.net is great in countries which are GAS haven't touched. We need to develop a better techinque to combine and get the best out of both of them.

I'm in Corfu at this time with RB and am watching VIK158 heading from GCXO to Gatwick.  This is showing on the flight screen as C-FYLC an A340 with a mode S of C04081 but the picture from Airplanes shows it as it as it should be a B738.

Airplanes isnt always wrong, I believe that this registration used to belong to an Air Canada A340.

whilst not worth a new topic.................

Never mind the  SQ A380 - nice listing in Daves "My flights" of the ex Easyjet B737 now with Aires Columbia in his above screen shot!!!

Hate to say it,but hopefully not another database/GAS/Airliners.net error, but I reckon the reg should be HK-4635X ???

Dave - was that a self fixed datbase update??

Anyone got the true ident?

Snigger snigger - what a trouble maker I am!!!

All just a bit of fun!

Take care

Almost, but not quite - it's HK-4635-X (two hyphens)

No, I don't waste my time updating the RadarBox database any more, as I've found that corrections tend to subsequently get overwritten by the wrong data again.

Darn it - almost correct!!

Lovely scheme though!

Out of interest, the aircraft "left" the EZY fleet back in June- where was he going when you picked him up, or was that an old screen shot?

It's a playback of a recorded file rather than a live session.

I have no idea what the aircraft in question is doing there  :-)
