TCX528K with problems?

Watching TCX528K at present. He's been in the hold at Rosun on approach to Manchester for at least 20 minutes and has reported that he is burning off fuel. He is expecting to be in the hold until 15:00 UTC! then cleared to land on standby runway 23L. Watch this space.

Never a dull moment here, an aircraft, not TCX528K as I understand it, has lost a nose-wheel bolt on take-off and the runway is currently closed for inspection.

I see that TCX528K was scheduled to depart Manchester at 9.00 this morning, and didn't take off until 13.33. Still holding as I type this.

Ok, many thanks Rod. He's due to call ATC in about 10 minutes (14:55 UTC) with his last pass over Rosun before making an approach. Perhaps he was the one with nosewheel problems. I'm listening in. He's just been instructed to call his Thompson engineer on 136.80

TCX528K landed without incident. Said something to Fire Control about an "indication being wrong" (I will investigate). They managed to taxi in back from 23L under their own steam.

Glad it got back safely.
Yes, TedLoon - it's rather misleading, isn't it? You would think they would say "Returned".

A radio recording as TCX528K landed now at
http://www.gfrost.co.uk/SquawkBox/TCX528K.wav
. On landing he switches frequencies and talks to the fire service, at which point, wouldn't you just know it, reception gets much worse! Anyhow he appears to say "Normal landing, we are happy to taxi to the gate. It was just an indication previously that we could not get the gear up". He looked ok from the ground too...
http://www.gfrost.co.uk/SquawkBox/TCX528K.jpg
. The passengers must have been dizzy, flying round in circles for an hour and a half!
