Some users have recently reported that AirNav Systems regarding the creation of an internet forum with the sole intention of damaging AirNav Systems Reputation. Because we are a totally transparent, correct and honest company we would like to clarify some issues related to this matter.

1- AirNav Systems, for several times, has reported that a few forum members (some of them don't even have a RadarBox unit) continuously post negative comments and facts regarding our company and RadarBox product on this and other internet forums. They do this not because they have those problems but to deliberately damage the reputation of our company.

2- We have identified these users as being part of an internet forum, called "RadarSpotters", created a few months ago. On this forum 99% of the messages regarding AirNav RadarBox are negative, post false facts and drive users that RadarBox is an unreliable product. One of these users is directly connected to the legal process below:
Illegal Activity to halt AirNav RadarBox Success

3- This "RadarSpotters" internet forum has a permanent, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week banner advertising our competitor product. This forum runs frequently competitions to sell and promote the product sold by our competitor.

4- To keep things calm and try to solve this problem on an easy way, AirNav Systems contacted the owners of that forum (in May 2009) to try to place an advertisement there. After a change of emails we were denied of doing so by the forum moderators, Mr Hamish McTorsk and MikeC/Anmer when AirNav Systems asked what conditions would be necessary to replace the competitors banner on that site.

5- It was strange for us to realize that the most active persons on these forum were all related to our competitor product. MikeC/Anmer is permanently on our competitor forum, providing support and answering user questions on a daily basis. He has joined our competitors forum on Nov/22/2007 and posted 4228 messages since then. He his the third most active user of that forum (evidence below).

6- Despite these facts, these 2 persons continue to refute any accusations that they are directly connected with our competitor. Nevertheless they continue to, daily, allow and sometimes post erroneous messages about AirNav RadarBox, bashing our product, our employees and permanently commenting our reaction to these facts.

7- Today user "chrisg0wtz", which works for the company that distributes our competitor product, posted a message at their forum clarifying the situation. On this message he clearly states:
"THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LINK BETWEEN HAMISH (OR THIS FORUM) AND KINETIC OR ML&S"
"It has always been clear to Hamish from day 1 that no actual money would go his way as we will only spend money on the Kinetic forum."

8- Last Saturday when we first raised this situation on our forum, Mr Hamish McTorsk, the owner and main moderator of that forum mentioned:
"My forum has never been anti Airnav...Kinetic pay a lot for their ad, how much is my buisness, not yours."

9- So, one more time, AirNav Systems is a victim of acts which sole intention is to damage the image, honesty and reputation of a company that entered the ADS-B receiver market 2 years ago and that now is by far the leader in sales and number of new users / month.

10- We believe we are in a free and fair market where companies should grow and win based on their merit, innovation and helping their users to achieve what they want. That's what we do daily at AirNav Systems and that explains the concerns we have when dealing with these issues.

11- Reputation is the most important asset of a company and we are already taking the necessary legal measures regarding this serious problem.

This could be considered an off topic thread, since it doesn't directly involve AirNav RadarBox support but we feel that our users should understand what happens behind the scenes at this market.

We have locked it for obvious reasons. Please send us a PM using the forum Messaging features in case you need to contact us regarding this matter.
