AirNavSystems RadarBox Database -- Tail Numbers / Aircraft Information ERRORS.

Please report errors you find when you are checking your aircraft database.
This will come in handy when other United States/Canada RadarBox user might be near another United States/Canada RadarBox user.

This will help to stop the spreading misinformation around on the web that comes from the AirNavSystem Radarbox Aircraft Database Server / User Email Logs.
Hope someday someone at AirNavSystems company will use this thread/topic to update the main database records, and include it in the next major software version update.
So the correct information will go out to all RadarBox users.

To double check your aircraft database.  Here are some handy links.

FAA N-Number Inquiry:

Lets keep this topic for United States/Canada Radarbox user.
Might be a good idea to start a another topic that covers the European countries RadarBox users.

Thanks.

We do NOT update the database ourselevs.

If we went around oursleves trying to update the database manually we would never get time for anything else. The database is constantly updating and its impossible to keep up to date.

Our database does use the GAS service to populate data.

Strange, the GAS website has the same info on this aircraft as the online FAA register, what is it that the AirNav server is saying different ?

This problem is the Server update logic one that I asked about approx 6 months ago.
I was then suspecting the problem of being local updates not being requested, but it now looks as though the Server update logic needs modifying.

Is it my imagination, or is this the 3rd thread that you have posted to about this issue Brian?

Dave - the problem is the frequency of re-issuance of registrations in USA and Canada, less prevalent in Europe and elsewhere. The provided DB with RB is out of date to begin with (still had AC B747s ands DC-8s that had been retired years ago and missing AC Embraers that had been inservice for a couple of years). As a consequence I had an AC DC-8 come up on my screen a few months ago which was of course another aircraft altogether. When used mobile in the USA you will get many mis-matches of biz aircraft. I keep my Aerodata Analyser running to verify the real Type for the Mode-S recognized. For NA, to stay current, we need the ability to get a refreshed DB of changes downloaded at frequent intervals, (weekly).

Regular updates of the server database would be a step in the right direction, but a more fundamental problem remains (which equally affects SBS as well as RadarBox).

That's the crazy database design decision to have no provision whatsoever for re-use of registrations and codes by different aircraft which, as you rightly say, happens all the time in countries such as the US, Germany, etc.
