Looking for a new Airband Scanner Setup
« on: April 20, 2009, 07:53:08 PM »
Hey folks, Ive had my Commtel 205 Scanner for about 15 years now, and looking for a change!

Can anybody recommend the industry standard for Airband Listening?

Which make and model is the best for use with a laptop?
And can this model be used in the car without a laptop?

Thanks

James

I don't know about industry standard but probably the canine undercarriage/apian patellas is the ICOM IC R20.

Thanks guys, Terbat that looks a good bit of fit!

Are there a few scanners now that have PC control?

I remember reading about one that was apprently the benchmark in build and design at the time, maybe a year ago or so?
