Install on new PC not working
« on: December 31, 2018, 12:30:28 PM »
Hi Guys;
Could somebody please help me out?
I have a new desktop and I have installed my Airnav but every time I open it, on the first small green window as it goes through it's start up procedure it says: Checking devices....RB1 found then RB1 check, failed.
Once it opens, the check box at the bottom of the page is red and Hardware not connected.
I thought it may have been drivers? I tried messing with Zadig but with no success. Maybe I shouldnt be messing with Zadig as I know I use that with my  other install using the flash drive thingy but on this install I am using the full airnav box, help please??
kind regards clive.

Hi Clive

If its an RB box the Zadig drivers are not for it.  You should use the ones from the support page http://www.airnavsystems.com/Download/ANRB/Drivers/ANRB-Drivers-20161222.zip

Alan, before I make a mistake, where should I extract to? At the moment when I click on extract all, it wants to put them in "C:\users\super\downloads\anrb-drivers-20161222" should I be inserting it into "C:/Airnav radarbox" ?

OK I was impatient......
I extracted all into C:/airnavsystems/airnavradarbox/drivers. It has not worked. No doubt I have done it completely wrong?

This is getting me down now, I have been at it for 6 hours. Ive just noticed with Airnav not running, I have the green power light on the airnav box but no blue light that shows a USB lead connected. Im sure that I remember the blue light would flash when connected but Airnav not running?

Do you get a ping when you plug and unplug the USB cable as the cable may be defective.  I don't have a box any longer but was the blur light not to signfy you were getting hits?

Yes and I tried it in 4 different usb slots on the new computer. Just tried the airnav box on the old laptop and it is working so no probs there. I have now uninstalled airnav from the new computer and I am currently downloading the full install from the airnav website again. I expect I will have the same problem Should I also need to downl;oad the updated drivers on the airnav website too? I would have thought that that the full download from the airnav website will be bang up to date?

Load the full install then the drivers as they are not included in the software download.

If it is working on one computer it should work on the other, just remember not to install to program files

When you have it all in, if it is still not working go to Device and Printers and find your box and see if there are any issue showing.  You may need help the computer find the drivers by browsing to the location of the drivers

I have given up and reverted to my old laptop. I was trying to be clever in that I bought an Asus PB40 nettop computer with 32G SSD. As soon as windows updated itself it was out of memory. I thought I would be able to run my Db, SBS and Airnav from it but no.
JHow true the old adage: if it aint broke, dont fix it!!

OK, so I have tried again this evening with no luck. Fitted a new 1tb HDD into this Asus PB40 computer then reinstalled Airnav The path for Airnav is C:/Airnav Systems/Airnav Radarbox and the path for the latest drivers is C:/ Airnav Systems/Airnav Radarbox/Drivers/ANRB-Drivers-20151222. But, every time I start Airnav it shows as no hardware connected. I have 5 usb connections on this Asus but the same result every time although I do get the familiar ping everytime I insert the USB lead. No USB or Signal light on the Airnav box. What am I missing??

OK, after my last post and despite trying everything I knew (and thats limited), I ditched the Airnav and tried one of my dongles........and it worked, after downloading the updated drivers from Zadig. The only problem I seem to be having now is when I go to update the airnav Db, it behaves itself until about halfway through the download then just stops. I have tried several times with the same result. At first I thought it may have been a memory issue so I transferred all airnav files/program from the C drive to the D drive which is a new 1tb HDD but the same result ensues regarding the datbase download, any suggestions??

kind regard clive.
