Robin Hood Airport
« on: January 05, 2009, 07:44:26 PM »
Could anyone tell me how to get this airport onto the map I've added it to the database but it doesn't show. When I get flights out of Robin Hood they just show up as EGCN not the name. Why isn't it alreday in the database? The outline is on the map but it has no label with it.

Also I haven't been since it was RAF Finningley in 1991, has anyone been lately? I've had a look at the website and it shows some good spots for photography.

Hi Stuart

The map that comes with RB is where the details of the runways and centrelines are held, and it is very out of date. We can add the outlines ourselves, but the map is down to AirNav.

Let's hope they have an updated map for the next software release!

Cheers Rod the outline is on the map but not the name, this must be one of your outlines.

Thanks for the explanation.

Have you tried adding EGCN to the Airports table in Navdata.

Added to the database but doesn't put name on map, put all the details into it including lat and long. Doesn't show on map and won't find it using locate button.

Any ideas?

Stuart.

I think the airports table is just used for routes info - any changes I make to the table don't seem to appear on the map, but do effect the airport names next to the photos and, I think, where the origin and destination lines on the map point to.

Only used for routing info, that sounds right. Hope they get it sorted for a future release.

Thanks for the help lads.

Sorry, I thought you question was "When I get flights out of Robin Hood they just show up as EGCN not the name."  Are you talking about routes with this question?

Sorry mate no I wasn't getting anything at all, I've now added to the database but I can't get it to locate via the program button when I put in EGCN. I'm not sure about flights haven't seen one since I realised they weren't coming up with the airport just destination.
