Mode S only aircraft and their status
« on: December 28, 2008, 09:04:08 PM »
I have noticed with Mode S aircraft in the status column of the interface they are shown as leveled when the altitude is increasing or decreasing, is this normal? For these aircraft there is no V rate information so I assume this is why it is displayed as being level but when the aircraft is climbing or descending you would expect it to say climb or descend. All the ADS-B equiped aircraft work normally.
Cheers

As there is no vrate it doesn't follow the usual pattern as you say. So they are marked as levelled below a certain flight level and then cruise.

In the future we may add a feature where it remembers the last altitude and hence can deduce whether its status.
