Thanks in advance.

Just about to disappear for a couple of hours, so no time to go into this in detail at the moment, but see this thread.

Tarbat has produced a small spreadsheet to convert lat/lon to RB co-ordinates, but it would go something like this:

- Grab a jpg of the map you want to use

- save the map in the RB /Satellite directory say as UK01.jpg

- write down the lat/lon co-ordinates of the corners

- Use tarbat's spreadsheet to concert to RB format

- save the calibration data as UK01.stl

- Run RB and select the map from the Layer drop-down

I've only played around with this briefly, but be aware that you can't zoom the map when you are viewing it, as it only works at one zoom level.  So, before you grab the map jpg, set the RB map window to the area you want to watch.  This will then give you a rough idea of the area of your own map that you need to grab.

There is a "quick and dirty" way as well:

- Set you RB map view to the area you want

- download the satellite layer and save it as say UK02 (this also saves the calibration file UK02.stl)

- look at UK02.jpg in the /Satellite directory

- match the area on your own map so that the jpg you produce matched the area exactly - you have to do this by eye

- save your map as UK02.jpg to overwrite the satellite layer you just downloaded as UK02

- use the new map in RB from the drop-down menu.

This is how I produced this map:

Tarbat has produced a small spreadsheet to convert lat/lon to RB co-ordinates
Spreadsheet attached.

Can give quite good results with OS Maps:
