Just received my RB, but...
« on: July 15, 2008, 11:34:12 AM »
Cannot seem to find the antenna? I have the metal plate and also the cable that runs from the antenna base to the box...

Please can anyone shed some light on this?

Hmmm....

The antenna should be fixed to the small magnetic base with the cable attached.  I'm sure you would have noticed it if it fell out when you were unpacking. It's about 12 inches long with a curly bit in the middle.

I think a Help message to [email protected] is required.

Note that this won't stop you being able to install RadarBox and see Network data, you just won't get any live tracks without an antenna.

You can see what it looks like here:

Yeh its definately not there, its the curly bit I was looking out for too...

The brown cardbox box that the Radar Box Package came in seemed to be heavily wrapped with brown tape, so its possibly been open at some point.

Gutted! Will install the program anyway and get up and running with the networked data.

Thats very curious never had a missing antenna before.

Did you purchase this from a dealer, if so you need to contact them first?

Blimey - that's really bad luck - I bet you're very frustrated - hope you've at least got the network going. Have you tried a coat hanger? :-)

Ive Emailed support and waiting a response.

Just installed the software and also the drivers etc and gonna load up for the first time now! I'll report back.

Incidently, is the trail version I downloaded the other day 2007 and this version ive installed from the CD being 2008?

I seem to have both installed when finding it from the start menu.

The trial version you downloaded from the AirNav site will be the latest software - RadarBox 2008.  The one on the disk is probably RadarBox 2007.  The install into different directories, so you can run whichever one you like!

I'm sure you can improvise.  You should have the magnetic base like this:

And this is what you need to reproduce:

Shouldn't be too difficult and it should do until you get a proper one :-)
