Aerial Question
« on: July 13, 2008, 07:06:34 PM »
After having a good look through the Screenshot forum, was great to see the difference an outdoor aerial makes. I cant afford one now but will use the magmount to start with, and then feel the benefit in a few months! Are there lots to choose from, or is the a particular make / model that people swear by?

I currently have a scanning aerial attached to my chimney - can the new one be mounted say just 12" inches along side it, or will it cause problems for either reception?

Also, is it a possibility to buy like a switch or bridge that will enable by scanner and RB work using the same aerial?

Thanks

James

You might want to view the post below for answers regarding the best antenna.

Its best to have your antenna at the highest point with nothing blocking it. You can't use the same antenna to use with RadarBox and listen to ATC as they the RadarBox antennas are only good for the ADS-B frequency range.

Ah right ok, thought it was a long shot! What sort of frequency are we talking? 1090 mhz?
