Problems Picking Up Flights
«
on:

I live about 10 miles from Manchester International and have been away in Spain for 2 months with my ANRB.
Since returning home I am having difficulty in picking up any flights unless they are in a 2-3 mile radius.
Before I went away I could pick up the main airport traffic including landings and take-offs.
I am not on the Network, just Hardware flights.
Any advice would be appreciated please.

With flight only being picked up at a very short range it sounds like it is needing a repair. Did you have any thunder storms before you left Spain?

Had a couple of storms in Spain, but it was disconnected.
I had it switched on here last week after I got back and I believe there was an overnight storm Alan.

Every chance the static from the lightning got it. Waters and Stanton will advise

For information Ian, it doesn't have to be a lightning strike, just static in the air around an outside antenna can do it, or going mobile with an antenna on the car roof can generate enough static to kill the filter.
