MyLog and Flights
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:16:31 PM »
My question
In to MyLog window at the bottom line left corner have the number of Aircraft in total (1800).
Right to this number shows the Flight(s).
OK
When i choose one aircraft on table like "example" SX-DVK shows me 3064 Flights for this aircraft.
What i make wrong?
Every time this aircraft transmit mode S data/sec or any time this count like flight?

Or because this flight appears and for while disappear from my horizon every time who i start to received again count new flight?

I haven't got SX-DVK in MyLog, but it sounds like a problem with the aircraft's transponder.

I get some aircraft where there are many flights listed for the same aircraft on the same day only seconds apart.

Read my last edit in to my first message.
It's that perhaps my problem?
Because is not only with this aircraft but lot more.

Yes, loosing and picking up the flight again might do it.  AirNav did say that there was a time setting in the program which might be too short, resulting in the same aircraft being seen as many different flights.

Yes i check that right now and i have the same flight I-BIXK AZA989 in time between 10min 3 new flights of them.
How to change this delay time? or is not possible.

3064 flights for one aircraft his drive me crazy :)

Hi

I regularly get exactly the same problem - many flights from one aircraft just seconds apart - it would be nice if that could be tidied up a bit.

For example, I've got G-MIDL on flight BMA7NL appearing 28 times from 13.45 until 15.15 on 24th March. Can that just be it dropping in and out of range?

30 min I think is good delay for a flight.
One time picking up the aircraft and not again.
Is total impossible to change flight on this time.
Even to landing and takeoff.
Except touch and go exercises. :)

The timer is one way of avoiding duplicate entries. The other way would be to compare the current flight number and date in  My flights with the flight number and date entry in My log for a given aircraft. If both values match then just add the message count to the total already in My log, else make a new entry.

I agree though, my My Log is starting to need a manual clean up at this stage.

Like ChrisGR asks in reply #4 -  can you change the timer??

As to your second method - sounds so straightforward, perhaps it can be automated (but not by me!)

Hi
I leave RB running 24/7.
I have the most traffic airway over my head.
From the Eastern direction of approach exist enough natural obstacles that make my reception non continuous.
When I make control of MyLog I find each flight on two and three times some time four to be written.
200 flights min per day 600 plus fault entries minimum.
It's impossible to clean those data manually.
Think about it.
My opinion is this must have a time delay the RB for same flight numbers before rewrite them on logbook.

I hope the RB team has focused on this problem and make a fix.
Regards
Chris
