Many thanks AirNav - have just downloaded and installed the updater you pointed me to.

This has given me back correctly rendered 3D skins for at least easyJet and Ryanair. Will monitor the situation for any missing skins that I used to have.

Hmm, A6-EBV just overflown my house on flight UAE38 - the evening Birmingham to Dubai flight.
Has reverted to a grey 'skinless' version - has always had a full skin until I installed latest updaters!
Is it related to the fact that the aircraft type is showing as B77W rather than B773?

Hi Airnav,

any updates on a possible 3D fix please ?

My 3D interface is really unusuable due to this bug (and also a previous bug which I reported a year ago,  where I cannot select aircraft on the 3D google map, and still no fix ...ie. Airnav support ticket #76559).  I therefore have to select an aircraft on the 2D display (works fine), and then switch to 3D...only to see a white stalk or blank aircraft after all the hassle.

Its rather frustrating after paying good money for a 3D upgrade, and cannot use.

Earlier today I downloaded and installed http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/DBUpdater/ANRBDBUpdater20110313.exe

As documented on the thread relating to this updater, it installed in wrong directory - however successfully copied it across to where it belonged and have been running it for a few hours now.

I'm fairly happy with it but still have a problem with 'grey' planes flying around the Midlands!

It appears that I'm not alone with this problem - just wondering whether it is worth starting a new thread for missing skins? By this I mean a dedicated thread for missing skins with the details of the airframe that is missing - rather than a vague moan that I'm missing loads...

This might be more useful to AirNav to narrow down where the problem lies - any thoughts?

There is certainly a bug that needs urgent attention.  But most of the examples you give will not have skins because Airnav never created them!

G-TOYK B733 401122 BmiBaby - Airnav created a B733 for BMA (the main airline). The last B733 left that airline in 2007, 3 years before the creation of 3D.  They did not create a skin for bmiBaby BMI B733

LN-DYB B738 478538 Norwegian Air Shuttle - NAX skin never created by Airnav

HA-LPI A320 473409 Wizz Air - WZZ A320 skin never created by Airnav

EI-RJR RJ85 4CA4C3 City Jet - Airnav created a B463 for BCY. The last 146-300 left that airline in 2004, 6 years before the creation of 3D.  They did not create a skin for BCY RJ85

A6-EBV B77W 8960DD Emirates - Airnav created UAE skins for the other three 777 types operated by the airline B772, B773, B77L. But never created a B77W for any airline.

If you look in the GE models folder in your Airnav folder on your computer, you will be able to see which of the aircraft types should show a skin.  

Hope this helps you identify which ones should not be blank and have a bug against those that were never created with the original 3D release.

Rather late - and must a-bed - will re-read your reply when I'm fresh in the morning!

Sounds like the latest NavData.db3 update has nothing to do with my problems - just missing skins from the original 3D release!

Will play with copying textures into new folders under my GE models folder. (Having backed everything up first!)
