AirNav Systems acquires ShipSpotting.com

San Diego, CA, Sept 30, 2009 - AirNav Systems ( www.airnavsystems.com ) the world's most trusted and accepted provider of  real-time global flight tracking solutions and the owner of the only existing global ADS-B flight tracking network is announcing the acquisition of the world’s biggest Ship Photo database and Ship Forum website.

AirNav Systems and Shipspotting AB, owner of Shipspotting.com, have been in talks since the beginning of August about a takeover of the website Shipspotting.com.

Tomas Pinas, founder of Shipspotting.com said “We're really pleased to have such a well known company as a owner with the true hearted focus for the interest we all share for ship spotting onboard for the long term future of this site”. Shipspotting.com are now going from an entrepreneur stage into a professional stage where members and users are seeking more reliant services than the ones we have been able to provide so far.

In addition the knowledge and competence about AIS and related systems will enhance the various end user services offered through shipspotting.com in the future. The membership will continue to receive the services that are already offered on the site by the same administration team of webmasters and photo administrators. We hope that the ships potting community will welcome this agreement and continue to support our joint ship spotting community.

“This is a big step forward for AirNav Systems and we are really proud to continue the work with ship spotters on a global basis. AirNav Systems really shows a genuine interest in shipspotting as a hobby and photo community”, says Andre Brandao, founder of AirNav Systems.
