V 1.5 My Log wishlist feature
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:31:02 AM »
Hello,

While working with the My Log feature which I really like, I have noticed
that when using the today\yesterday filter aircrafts dissapear from the
yesterday list if you received them today thus decreasing the number of
aircraft received yesterday

I'm still able to create a true list of aircraft received yesterday with
the filter from Date to Date, however in that case I'm not able to create
a report of aircrafts received Yesterday

Could you add a report possibility for such a list ?

Ofcourse this reflects a personal wish but maybe there are more users
who would like such a possibility of creating a true report for yesterdays
flights.

Or maybe there are ways to create such a list which I have overlooked, in
that case any info/suggestions are very welcome.

Regards,

Marinus.

please also add under the reporter a button which generates ALL DATA report not just TODAY and YESTERDAY please, then the whole logged database can be emailed.

also a Print button would be nice!

The update is going well, there should be a post in the forum from Development with more details.

We may be able to squeeze those requests in, our priority though is to rectify the issues first.

where do we stand on getting callsign and some height/altitude data for the my log function ? Mentioned this on a few threads and emailed direct but no Airnav response.
Also could you allow the comments column that appears in my log to be visible via database explorer for the aircraft database and allow the option to display this for the my flights list.

All the information is there if you don't mind doing a bit of work.  This is a sample of the 5 minute delayed data coming out of port 30003 which has everything including position, level, callsign, squawk etc.

As it's all nicely comma delineated, you can import the data into a spreadsheet program such as Excel and get something like this:

In this example, I've only bothered to display the information that interests me, but you get the idea.  I captured the txt by using Windows Hyperterminal which has a capture text option.

Not a very clever solution I know, but it does shown what can be done.  Maybe a 3rd party Excel with VBA solution to grab the data direct from port 30003 - there must be somebody out there clever enough to do this :-)

Here is a port 30003 txt file for you to play with if you want to try importing it into a spreadsheet:

looks great but how about Airnav incorporating it into the log/report function so I dont have to do all this. Had the box since it was brought out and still awaiting certain functions that have been mentioned numerous times.

The ports allow you to do soo much and customize it as you please. We cannot develop an application which which suit everybdoys needs. We have to reach a limit where by most customers are happy.

b744,

You forget to mention many of the features you asked for since version 1 were also added. We need to control new features by whether they are popular, time conusming, whether they have negative impact. I hope you understand that.
