Why RadarBox

RadarBox is the complete solution for your Mode S/ADS-B aircraft tracking requirements, providing “out of the box” functionality and ease of use.

REMEMBER, ALL OF THESE FUNCTIONS ARE AVAILABE AS PART OF THE STANDARD RADARBOX INSTALLATION.  NO ADD-ONS OR SPECIAL COMPUTER SKILLS ARE REQUIRED TO USE RADARBOX OR TO USE THE FUNCTIONS LISTED ABOVE.  JUST INSTALL THE SOFTWARE, CONNECT RADARBOX USING THE SUPPLIED USB LEAD AND ATTACH THE SUPPLIED ANTENNA AND YOU WILL BE WATCHING AIRCRAFT WORLDWIDE IN MINUTES.

See aircraft in real-time within the range of your antenna
o   Aircraft can be detected to a maximum range of 250 nautical miles
o   Displayed on the RadarBox map live, in their actual positions, real-time with no delay
o   Full aircraft details shown in the MyFlights aircraft list
o   No Internet connection required to track live aircraft
o   No subscription required to track live aircraft received with your antenna
o   Even aircraft not transmitting full ADS-B position information, can be seen in the MyFlights aircraft list if they are equipped with a Mode S transponder

RadarBox data sharing Network with an Internet connection
o   Share your live aircraft data with the RadarBox Network
o   All other RadarBox users can see the aircraft you detecting
o   You can see ALL aircraft that ALL other RadarBox users are sharing
o   Typically in excess of 1000 aircraft displayed on the Network all over the world
o   Separate Network flights aircraft list showing aircraft details
o   Option to mark Network flights on the map with “*” symbol
o   For security reasons, Network data is delayed by 5 minutes.  This is an internationally recognised standard and reflects a responsible approach to data sharing by AirNav Systems
o   ONLY RadarBox has the data sharing Network function provided as part of the software
o   Network access is free for the first 12 months, then access costs only 5 Euros per month (current price Spring 2009)

Logging and Reporting Functions
o   All live aircraft detected are recorded in MyLog

Auto-populate function with an Internet connection
o   Aircraft not in the RadarBox database have their details populated automatically
o   Option to automatically download and display aircraft photos
o   Aircraft route auto-populate function
o   Auto-populate aircraft details are saved to the RadarBox database and so will be available even when working without an Internet connection

Airport weather information available with an Internet connection
o   Select an airport in the RadarBox SmartView tab
o   METAR, TAF and airport QNH displayed
o   Option to automatically use airport QNH to correct aircraft altitude display below the Transition Level
o   Show METAR, TAF and METAR for any airport in the world using the Get Weather function

Recording function
o   Record live aircraft detected by your antenna
o   Play back recorded files without the RadarBox hardware receiver, excellent for demonstrating RadarBox to your friends on a laptop
o   All RadarBox software interface functions are available during recording playback, including Alerts, Fleet Watch, map scroll and zoom and colour scheme selection

Easy Mobile Operation
o   The RadarBox hardware receiver is contained within a compact and robust metal box
o   The receiver is powered by the USB cable
o   No separate power supply needed
o   RadarBox does not need an Internet connection to detect live flights using the antenna (Network data, auto-populate and weather information are not available when operating without an Internet connection)
o   RadarBox works very well when spotting at airports, running on a laptop PC with the standard antenna
o   Watch the aircraft at the airport in real-time and view them on the RadarBox map
