Extended ADS-B use in the States

Following on from Louisville, the Gulf of Mexico gas platforms are now using ADS-B for ATC purposes.

Controllers in Philadelphia will begin using ADS-B in February and the system will become operational in Juneau, Alaska in April.

This is excellent news. In the West, UPS and FedEx, use ADS-B on most of their fleet.  Frontier and Jet Blue seem to have at least part of their fleet so equipped.  The rest of the ADS-B activity out here is international overflights into LAX and SFO.  On average I only have 5-6 flights on the map in my area with 40-60 showing on Mode-S.

WestJet flights overfly Salt Lake on their way to the Southwest and Mexico.  I see several per day!

As noted in my first post, Philadelphia PHL is scheduled to turn on ADS-B surveillance in the next couple of days.
