According to airframes.org the mode S code is for a French registered aircraft but no details have been found. Same with the GAS site therefore, so far, a mystery.

According to airframes that code relates to Austria. Again no further data. Very strange.

The French code is most likely a microlight in the F-Jxxx range, and I'd guess that the Austrian is too - maybe we're looking at the default callsign programmed into a handheld Mode S transponder?

If you should see the same thing coming up on your RB, perhaps you could do a bit of investigating. I'm not really website savvy therefore apart from GAS and airframes websites, wouldn't really know where else to look.

Just to add my twopence-worth, I regularly get RAF BN2T ZH536 (Mode-S 43C38B) buzzing around usnig ZZZZZZZZ.

Now there's a coincidence. I picked up the same aircraft today at 12.42 transmitting as you say Mode S 43C38B a BN2T registration ZH536 with an ID of ZZZZZZZZ. I think that was the correct number of Z's. Maybe the pilot is asleep and it's on automatic pilot !
