Radar Box Connection problem!!!!!

Hi can anyone help. I am having a problem getting the radar box to be recognised by the computer. I had to recently re-install windows Xp. I now find that even after re-installing the air nav software the computer does not see the box on the USB connection list. The USB drivers dont seem to be installed and when i connect the box the computer chimes but does not ask for drivers. The blue light comes on when connected to the computer but goes out as quickly. The green power light is always on.

Anyone have an idea?

Hi,
Thanks for that, i did run through this and the airnav is not present in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers, i then ran the install CD again and that didn't seem to change anything.

Not sure to do next.

Disconnect RB and view the Universal Serial Bus Controllers then connect it again, try another USB port if need be. Does anything occur, i.e (Does somethig else appear in the controllers)

Also can you confirm this only happened after your XP reinstall?

When the RB is reconnected the computer chimes and the USB list seems to reset itself but no additional items appear. I had no problems prior to reinstalling windows XP.

Thats weird.

When you connect RadarBox and run RadarBox 2009 what does it say?

As a RB connected with just a green light indicates the drivers have been installed but it then should appear in the USB list.

When I run the programme it runs normally with no warnings. The hardware light is red on screen and says disconnected. But apart from that it all looks normal.

The chances are that you have a driver installed, but not the RB driver.

Look at the USB devices in Computer Properties with RB connected, unplug RB and see if one of the devices disappears.

I see it now, its not coming up in the USB section its under other devices with a question mark

I don't have an "other devices" heading in Device Manager.  Have you seen this video regarding the driver installation on the AirNav RB Support page.

Got it, was able to install the driver from the other devices icon, it looks like it was the wrong driver, working perfectly now, thanks for all your help.

Those pesky USB drivers all have a mind of their own, no matter what device it is you are running :-)
