Editing database

Forgive me if this has already been covered but I have searched and not found.
Question.
When I see the flight number and the route is blank but I know origin and destination for that flight how can I use the database edit feature to add or update? So far I can change it on the edit screen but it does not show up on the display.
Similarly when the route is correct but origin and destination have been transposed how can I correct them?
